TRAINING

Basically there are TWO reasons why we endure the hardships of training. Let us define ENDURE to better understand training. To endure means to sustain without yielding, to bear with patience and to suffer patiently.

The majority of us fall in the first group, we train to look majestic in someone else’s eyes. We strive to improve our appearance and performance that results in complimentary remarks which provides contentment, pleasure, and a sense of achievement, or even sometimes for substantial monetary gain.

The second reason is for self improvement and gratification. A very small percentage of Karateka’s fall into this group. Like some of our earlier Senseis, concentrated training was done in seclusion.
