Left Center Forearm Block

1. Assume Heiko Dachi. (Feet approximately 16 to 18 inches apart, parallel to each other pointed forward. Weight distributed evenly on both legs, knees slightly bent. Hands to your front 5 inches from your legs and 3 inches apart.

2. The following moves are done simultaneously:

a) Your left arm diagonally across the front of your body, left to right, with your fist at
your belt, knuckles facing up.

b) Your right arm diagonally across your chest, right to left, so your right fist is between
your left shoulder and neck.

c) Both arms are parallel to each other.

d) Bring your left arm up in a wiper motion pivoting at the elbow until your fist is at your
shoulder height and arm 90 degrees in respect to your shoulders, and elbows bent at
90 degrees angle.

e) Your right arm will move as if to cut your left forearm in half and resume the cocked
position on the right side of your body.

3. Execute slowly.
Note: Cocked position for your right arm.
Your right fist is against the right side
of your body with the forearm parallel
to the floor, back of knuckles facing
down.

Reverse procedure for right center forearm block.

Common Correction
a. Blocking arm not diagonal across the body with knuckles facing up
b. Not using positive block
c. Height and angle of blocking not correct.
d. Wrist and knuckles not squared to the front.
e. Coordination of both arms
f. Cocked position incorrect
